Why We Give

Why We Give

The heart of The Met has always been to show those far from God the hope and purpose found in Jesus. That’s why there is no greater generosity than investing in the only thing Jesus ever built - the local church. With God’s favor and your faithful support, we have seen countless baptized, marriages healed, families restored, leaders equipped and the next generation rise up and take a stand for their faith. It is through your regular tithes and offerings that we can impact our community and world for Christ.

Tithe means a tenth and refers to the first ten percent of all our income. The Bible tells us that the tithe belongs to God and it is to be set-aside for Him (Lev 27:30) and it is to be brought to the storehouse (Mal 3:10) on the first of the week (I Cor.16:1-2). Today that storehouse is the local church, and the principle is that we tithe where our family and we receive our spiritual food.
Offerings mean any amount over and above our tithes. In Malachi 3 the principle is taught that when the membership tithe and bring offerings there will be more than enough to meet all the needs of the ministry.
