The vision of the Met is about taking people on a journey where they learn to live for God 24/7; it is not about being a place for people to show up to encounter God for one hour a week. This journey begins with you and your obedience to surrender to God’s leading. Luke 9:23 "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” All our ministries are in line with this vision. As your Pastor, I want to help you in this journey and so I’m challenging the church this New Year to be a part of 2K10. Currently the Met has over 6,000 people attending a service every month and we are looking for at least 2,000 of you to take this challenge.

1. 2,000 tithing 10% - God asks for just a tenth of our income but sadly most people are not obedient to His call. Moving into this building was not the end of our vision but a step along the way. For us to build phase 2, launch new churches, and achieve what God has placed before us we must first be obedient and honor our responsibility to pay down the debt of this building. The median annual income for our region is $67,000 and if everyone honored God with their tithe we could pay off the debt this year.
2. 2,000 spending 10 hours a month in Spiritual Development - Colossians 1:10 “And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” It is our desire for everyone to grow in his or her relationship with Christ to where He is leading in every area of your life. This can only happen by spending time with Him in a weekly Bible study or small group and have a daily quiet time. I will be handing out a memory verse each week and a call to action life application for you to pray and study. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray continually.”
3. 2,000 serving 10 hours a month - Matthew 20:28 “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." We are never more like Jesus than when we serve. This year we want to transform members to ministers; to serve and lead in every ministry of our church. 4. 2,000 inviting 10 people a month - Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." We are not a church of the “us four and no more.” Our vision is to change this region for Christ and everyone you meet is potentially someone who needs to hear the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. You need to take advantage of every opportunity and invite people to come to church with you.

I am passionate about our church being everything God has intended it to be and I’m calling you to take this challenge; I am also passionate about everyone in our church living out the life God intended for them. 2 Corinthians 2:9 “The reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.” If you are not obedient with all of your life you are not obedient at all. I want you to be all you can be and I want the Met to be all it should be in 2010. We can make this happen when you step up and be a part of 2K10.
