MY Weekend 2019

An unforgettable weekend designed for students to deepen their relationships with God and one another in a variety of fun and focused environments. Students will be placed in groups of 10-12 by grade and gender and will be supervised by a background-checked, trained leader. Students will stay the night in a home sponsored by background-checked members of The Met.

Who: students in 6th – 12th grade
When: March 1-3
Cost: includes all meals, transportation, housing, entertainment, programming, administrative costs, t-shirt, etc.

*Deadline to register is Sunday, February 24
* A minimum deposit of $50 is required with all payments due by February 24. All payments are non-refundable.
Step 1: Register your student
To pay your student’s balance, refer to the confirmation email you received when you first registered. You may also email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need the confirmation email re-sent.
Step 2: Fill out the waiver for Urban Air. Go to https://urbanair.tray.com/signwaiver/123
Step 3: Read the details on the “Things to Know” e-mail to be sent on Monday, February 25. Important details about your student’s My Weekend experience will be provided in this e-mail including: itinerary, check-in process, packing list, code of conduct, etc.

*Arrangements may be made if a student has a scheduling conflict during My Weekend resulting in the student arriving late, leaving early, and/or missing a part of the weekend experience.

Step 5: Consider volunteering for My Weekend
My Weekend offers a number of impactful volunteer positions that afford every willing participant an opportunity to contribute.
Complete and pass a background check
Attend the volunteer training on Sunday, Feb. 24, 12:30 – 1:30pm (some volunteer positions are not required to attend.)
Honor the prescribed time commitment and fulfill all responsibilities as defined by each unique role.
Most volunteer positions require a time commitment of Friday, March 1 at 6:00pm to Sunday, March 3 at 12:00pm. The activity level for each position varies during this time frame.
Volunteers are asked to attend the My Weekend volunteer orientation and training on Sunday, February 24 from 12:30 – 1:30pm. Childcare is available upon request.
Our Student Ministry staff will train all volunteers and place them in the best position to suit each volunteer’s experience and capacity. Some positions are limited and are by invitation.
Group Leader –provides general guidance and spiritual leadership for a group of 10-12 students. The group leader is responsible for facilitating group discussion, time and schedule management, and serving as the liaison between the Met Youth staff and students. Met Youth will supply all curriculum and other needed materials. *Group Leaders are by invitation only.
Host Home – a Met Church family that houses 10-12 students and their leaders for the weekend. A host also provides meals (as needed) and transportation for the group and is encouraged to participate in the weekend fun.
Other Volunteer positions for MY Weekend
Hospitality – stage and distribute meals and snacks on campus as well as assist with the cleanup process thereafter.
Transportation – assist the home host and group leader with providing transportation for a group of students throughout the weekend.
Tech Team – facilitate the technical elements of the large group programs. *Must be a current volunteer on the tech team
Facilities – assist with custodial duties, campus monitoring, and setting up and taking down tables/chairs and other props/decorations.
