Hurricane Harvey has devastated south Texas and tens of thousands of people have been displaced by this tragedy. The heart of the Met has always been to help those who are in need. Through our Help Out ministry we feed over 400 families each week who are in need in our community. So, we are asking our Met family to step up and pray, serve and give to those who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. We have pledged to help meet the needs of those coming to our area and so through Help Out we are partnering with Mission Arlington, who will be housing evacuees, and Tarrant Area Food Bank, who will be distributing food to shelters supporting evacuees.
Pray for the people that have been affected by this devastation. Pray for the hurting. Pray for the broken. But most importantly pray that God moves in a powerful way. Pray for revival through the desperation.
- Mission Arlington needs volunteers to sort supplies for the evacuees. To serve show up between 7am and 7pm at 210 W. South Street, Arlington or for more information go to missionarlington.org.
- Tarrant Area Food Bank is actively seeking volunteers to help pack and sort food for distribution to local food pantries and shelters. Shifts are 3 hours long and there are 3 shifts per day. For more information visit tafb.org.
There are two ways to give to meet the exceptional amount of needs.
