About My Trip
As most of you know, last summer I got the amazing opportunity to go on a mission trip with The Met Church to Kampala Uganda. God has blessed me with another trip this summer! We will be working alongside God Cares Schools and Orphanage in Kampala, Uganda. The Orphanage was started as an outreach to children who are victims of Africa's AIDS pandemic, who are alone and poverty stricken. Their mission is to love and care for these little ones and help them get an education so they can rise above their current circumstances. Our team will be assisting the teachers in classrooms (where 60+ children per class isn't unusual), taking class photos, leading devotions, hosting a women's conference, hosting a young men's conference for High School seniors, and assisting in fundraising for agricultural efforts at the school's farm to help improve the children's daily diet of porridge and beans.
I learned so much while being over there and I hope I am able to raise the money to go again. I have fallen in love with Uganda, and the people!! The pineapple is pretty good too! I want to return to this beautiful country and serve a God who is so good. When I went last year I was expecting to be teaching others about God and to bless the people that live there. But what really happened is the Lord opened my eyes to a way of loving life that I have never seen before. The people there, they love with everything they have, and they live life day to day, thanking God for what little they have. I came home with a different outlook on life. It is my job to love others and pray with them and for them, not to judge them. I want to say thank you to everyone who prayed for me and donated money last year to help me go and serve the amazing people of Uganda.
My goal is to raise $3,200 for the trip by December 31st, 2016. All donations are tax deductible! In addition to my personal expenses; donations will fund mission projects performed at God Cares School, as well as go to purchase items we will be taking to the children (clothes, shoes, medical supplies, books, games, and other essential items.)
Please help me by praying for me and the mission team this year!! Help me go back to see my beautiful friends in Uganda.❤️
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
